President Trump appeared for Game 5 of the World Series in Washington to find a crowd not so happy about his appearance.
After Trump’s attendance was announced and the big screen showed him at Nationals Park Sunday night, fans replied with loud boos and jeering. You could hear sections chanting “Lock him up.” The phrase comes from his typical stab at Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election.
President Trump didn’t seem too bothered by the chanting, as he stood next to first lady Melania Trump and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Later, Fans revealed a “Veterans for Impeachment” banner behind home plate.
Trump also declined to throw the ceremonial first pitch, even though this has been tradition when a sitting president attends a baseball game.
President Trump said, “They gotta dress me up in a lot of heavy armor. I’ll look too heavy. I don’t like that.”
Even though this scene looks great for people who are Pro-Impeachment, Keep in mind Washington is a Democratic stronghold in which only 4% of residents voted for Trump during the general election in 2016.
